The review queue is not a pile-up from this week — it is a backlog that has been accumulating for a month, and nothing has come out of it in 24 hours.

Why has nothing been accepted out of review in a month, and is Promise blocked? Everything else is healthy.
The three things worth knowing
Yesterday's report got the queue backwards, and this one corrects it. It said the review queue was “new, not stale”. That was measured from the board's Last Modified column, which bulk operations rewrite en masse — it showed 57 items arriving in two days. The audit trail shows only 11 arrived in the last two days. Half the queue (37 items) has been waiting 14+ days, and the oldest entered review on 10 July — before this sprint began.
Throughput over the last 24 hours was zero. Done sat at 11 while In progress fell 6 → 4 and review grew 72 → 74. Work is flowing into review and nothing is coming out. With one day left, 83% of the sprint is parked in a queue that is not draining.
REVIEW/QA has never produced a single completion. Across the sprint's entire history, 103 items entered review and 3 left — all three sent backwards for rework. All 12 completion events bypassed review entirely. The queue is not a slow verification step; it is a status with no exit.
The sprint will not close tomorrow in any meaningful sense. The question is not “can we finish the remaining work” — it is that no verification step is actually running, so nothing can be finished. All 11 board completions came from the designer, routed around review entirely — and the person delivering the admin dashboard (Promise) has no board presence at all, so the board understates what shipped.
Sprint 0702 in detail
1.1 How to read the board
The export has 120 rows, but that double-counts: 31 are parent Stories that exist only to group their children. 89 rows are real, assignable work. Every percentage below uses the 89.
Two columns cannot be used, and both are measurement gaps rather than findings:
Estimation Points is 0 on all 120 items → velocity, burndown and “will it fit” are not derivable from this board.
Epic is blank on all 89 leaves → not because epics are unassigned, but because the Zoho token lacks the ZohoSprints.epic.READ scope. The 2026-08-05 export (taken through the UI) shows 40 items do carry epics. Do not read the blank column as an absence.
1.2 Status
| Status | Leaves | Share |
|---|---|---|
| REVIEW/QA | 74 | 83% |
| Done | 11 | 12% |
| In progress | 4 | 4% |
| Total | 89 |
| Measure | 05 Aug | 06 Aug | Δ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Done | 11 | 11 | 0 |
| In review | 72 | 74 | +2 |
| In progress | 6 | 4 | −2 |
The two items that left In progress went into review. Nothing left review. This is the shape of a system with an input and no output.
1.3 The queue is stale — correcting yesterday's report
This is the most important change from the previous edition, and it is a correction, not new information.
The board's Last Modified column is rewritten in bulk: dozens of items share a single identical timestamp with no corresponding entry in their audit trail. Bucketing by it produced a false picture of a sudden end-of-sprint surge.
Measuring instead from each item's actual status-change entry in the audit trail:
Median age: 14 days. Oldest: 27 days. Exactly half the queue has been waiting longer than the sprint is old. When items entered their current status:
Five items have been in review since 10 July — they were carried in from sprint 0701 and have sat through this entire sprint. The inflow is steady, roughly 4–6 per working day, with a bump on 31 Jul. There is no cliff. There is a slow, constant accumulation that nobody is draining.
1.4 REVIEW/QA has never produced a completion
The audit trails hold 214 status transitions for this sprint. Aggregated:
| From | To | Count |
|---|---|---|
| To do | In progress | 64 |
| In progress | REVIEW/QA | 52 |
| To do | REVIEW/QA | 44 |
| To do / In progress | BLOCKED | 19 |
| BLOCKED | In progress / REVIEW/QA / To do | 19 |
| In progress | Done | 9 |
| To do | Done | 3 |
| REVIEW/QA | In progress | 3 |
| REVIEW/QA | Done | 0 |
Two facts follow, and together they reframe the whole sprint:
No item has ever moved from REVIEW/QA to Done. 103 transitions went into review; 3 came out, all of them backwards to In progress. The queue has an inlet and a return valve, and no outlet.
Every completion bypassed review entirely. All 12 completion events went straight from In progress or To do to Done, never from REVIEW/QA. (12 events, 11 items currently Done — BVA-I68 was completed on 17 Jul and reopened into REVIEW/QA the same day, where it still sits.)
So “74 items in review” does not mean 74 items awaiting a verdict in a working process. It means a status that work enters and does not leave. The 11 Done items did not pass through it; they went around it.
This also answers 1.5's open question about who reviews, in the negative: nobody does. The only person who has ever moved an item out of REVIEW/QA is Fortune Okwu, three times, each time sending it back for rework.
1.5 Who is doing what
| Person | In review | In progress | Done |
|---|---|---|---|
| David Samuel | 46 | 1 | 0 |
| Ayomikun Araoye | 25 | 3 | 0 |
| Philip Chidera | 3 | 0 | 11 |
Every item is assigned — the 31 unassigned items in the previous export were parent stories, and that is now clean.
Five people, with roles as confirmed by the project owner:
| Person | Role | Owns | Assigned | Audit actions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fortune Okwu | Co-founder — supervises, no development responsibilities | — | 0 | 488 |
| Promise Udo | Admin dashboard | beevia-admin, beevia-admin-api | absent | 0 |
| David Samuel | Mobile front end | beevia-mobile | 47 | 71 |
| Ayomikun Araoye | App backend lead; also contributes to the admin API | beevia-api, beevia-db-schema | 28 | 39 |
| Philip Chidera | UI/UX design | — | 14 | 25 |
A whole workstream is invisible to the board. Promise does not appear in the export or the audit trails at all — no assigned items, no recorded actions, the name absent from both files — yet the admin dashboard and its 29-endpoint API are being built. Every completion percentage in this report therefore covers mobile, app-backend and design only.
Fortune's 488 audit actions are the other thing not to misread. They are item creation and status administration — supervision, not delivery. High activity here does not mean contribution, and his zero assigned items do not mean idleness.
So the “zero engineering completions” finding needs qualifying: true of everything the board tracks, not true of the project. An admin service reached 29 working endpoints this cycle without a single board item behind it.
Assigning Promise's work in Zoho would close the largest measurement gap in this report. Until then, judge admin-dashboard progress from commits in beevia-admin / beevia-admin-api, not from here.
Neither engineer has completed anything, but both have large review queues — consistent with “the work is done but unreviewed” rather than “the work is not done”. 1.4 supports that reading: their items reached REVIEW/QA and stopped there, and the only completions in the sprint took a route that skips review altogether.
1.6 The board cannot measure velocity
With every item at 0 points and no tags, there is no burndown, no velocity, and no basis for forecasting. Any statement about whether the remaining work “fits” would be invented. Sizing even coarsely (S/M/L) would make the next sprint measurable; without it, each of these reports can only describe state, never trajectory.
Team performance
Measured from audit trails (when work moved) and git (what was written). Both are flow measures. Neither measures quality, difficulty, or effort, and none of this separates “did less” from “was given less” — see the limits at the end.
2.1 Per person
| Person | Sub. 7d | Median cycle | Open WIP | Oldest WIP | Commits 7d | Board completions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| David Samuel | 17 | 1 day | 1 | 1d | 32 | 0 |
| Ayomikun Araoye | 12 | 5 days | 3 | 6d | 41 | 0 |
| Philip Chidera | 0 | 4 days | 0 | — | — | 11 |
| Promise Udo | not on board | — | — | — | 0 | not on board |
Cycle time = days from an item entering In progress to reaching REVIEW/QA. Commits combine each person's two git identities (1.5).
David has the highest throughput on the team: 49 items submitted across the sprint, a 1-day median cycle, 17 in the last week, and only one item open. That is a fast, consistently clearing pipeline.
Ayomikun submits at roughly two-thirds David's rate with a 5-day median cycle and the most commits of anyone (41 this week). The longer cycle is expected — backend items and a second workstream on the admin API are heavier than mobile screens. His 3 open items, oldest 6 days, are the team's only meaningful WIP.
Philip has completed 11 items — every completion on the board — but has submitted nothing in the last 7 days and holds no open work. His design items finished earlier in the sprint. Whether he is now idle, working on untracked design, or blocked is not visible here and is worth one standup question.
Promise cannot be measured from the board at all, and the git signal is concerning: 2 commits ever, none in the last 7 days. beevia-admin has had no commit since 30 July. That is the one genuine delivery risk in this section, and it is invisible in every board metric.
2.2 The team's output rate is not the problem
Sustained ~17–25 items a week with no decline. Set against 1.4 — where 103 items entered review and zero were ever accepted out of it — the conclusion is unambiguous: the team is producing at a steady rate and the acceptance step is not running. Nothing in this data supports a story about slow developers.
2.3 Repository activity
| Repo | Last commit | Status |
|---|---|---|
beevia-mobile | 06 Aug (today) | Active |
beevia-api | 05 Aug | Active |
beevia-admin-api | 05 Aug | Active |
beevia-db-schema | 04 Aug | Active |
beevia-admin | 30 Jul | Stalled 7 days |
2.4 What these numbers do not measure
State this every time; the metrics are easy to over-read.
Not productivity. Commit counts reward many small commits; cycle time rewards small items. Neither says anything about difficulty or quality.
Not workload fairness. David has 47 assigned items to Ayomikun's 28, but a mobile screen and a payments endpoint are not comparable units — and with no estimation points (1.6) there is no way to normalise them.
Not individual accountability for the queue. Nobody's items are stuck because of them; they are stuck because review has no exit (1.4).
Not complete. One of the five people does no tracked work by design (Fortune supervises) and another is absent from the board entirely (Promise).
What shipped this cycle
3.1 API surface is stable and fully documented
The audit found no drift — every route in code appears in the specs, and every spec operation exists in code:
| Service | Implemented | Proposed |
|---|---|---|
beevia-api | 100 | 52 |
beevia-admin-api | 29 | 23 |
All four spec files validate. Nothing was added to either API since the previous report, which is consistent with 1.2: the work in flight is in review, not merged.
3.2 Mobile moved, backend did not
beevia-mobile was 31 commits behind and has been fast-forwarded to main. That work covers voice and video call fixes, message attachments, media/link segmentation, and the contact-profile screen — the client catching up to endpoints the API already exposes.
No controller, DTO or schema file changed in any repo, which is why the specs needed no edits.
beevia-mobile was checked out from a Mock-data branch to main as part of this refresh. If someone was mid-task there, that branch still exists and nothing was lost.
Product-vs-PRD gap
Unchanged from the previous report — none of it moved this cycle, because nothing merged.
| PRD capability | State |
|---|---|
| Cross-currency conversion | Not built. PaymentService still hard-codes NGN via activeNgn(). The PRD's headline differentiator. |
| Virtual cards | Not built. No module, table or provider capability. An MVP feature with a flow, a spec and a roadmap phase. |
| Two KYC tiers | Local only. No international path for USD/GBP/EUR. |
| Consent management | Not built. Listed as MVP; required for the Phase 4 compliance gate. |
| Payments read path | Missing. No GET /payments; the 24h escrow countdown cannot be rendered after an app restart. |

Risks
The review queue is the delivery system right now. 83% of the sprint sits in it, half of it for two weeks or more, and nothing exited in 24 hours. Everything else is downstream of this.
Zero engineering completions on the board. Real, but narrower than it sounds: it covers mobile and app-backend work only. The admin API reached 29 working endpoints this cycle with no board items behind it at all (1.5). If review is the only obstacle for the tracked work, it resolves once someone reviews; if not, the remaining effort is unknown and unmeasurable per 1.6.
The sprint ends tomorrow. It will roll over substantially. Rolling 74 items forward without triage moves the problem rather than solving it.
The PRD gap is static. Four MVP capabilities remain unbuilt while effort goes to chat, onboarding and admin. That is a reasonable sequencing choice, but it is not converging on the MVP definition.
The admin dashboard front end has stalled. beevia-admin has had no commit since 30 July — 7 days — and Promise has 2 commits total and none this week (2.1). Because Promise has no board presence, no board metric would ever surface this. It is the only delivery risk in this report that the sprint board is structurally blind to.
Epic reporting is blind until the Zoho token gains ZohoSprints.epic.READ — 40 items' epic assignment is invisible to this pipeline.
Previous recommendations — where they stand
From project-status-2026-08-05.md. Verifiable items are judged against the board and the repos; the rest are marked as such rather than guessed at.
| # | Recommendation | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Triage the review queue before 07 Aug | Not done. Queue grew 72 → 74; 0 items left review. |
| 2 | Settle what “Done” means for engineering | Not done. Still zero engineering completions; Done unchanged at 11. |
| 3 | Admin hardening: 2FA, fail-closed guards, separate JWT secret, Swagger off in prod | Not done. beevia-admin-api has no new commits since the last report. |
| 4 | Decide on FX and card-issuing partners | No evidence either way. A partner decision leaves no trace in code; no FX or card module has appeared. |
| 5 | Resolve the Trust & Safety / E2EE conflict | No evidence either way. No related code change; the conflict remains in the dashboard spec. |
| 6 | Add estimates and epics | Not done. All 120 items still carry 0 points. |
Four of the six are verifiably unstarted, and the two that carried a hard deadline — triage and the “Done” definition — are the two the sprint most needed. That is the clearest signal in this report: the previous edition's advice did not translate into action, so repeating it unchanged would be pointless.
What I would do this week
Deliberately shorter than the previous list. Six recommendations produced zero actions; one is worth more than a menu.
Name the reviewer, today. 74 items, no reviewer field, nothing accepted in a month. This is recommendation #2 from the previous report restated with its cause identified — it did not move, and nothing else can move until it does. Everything below is secondary to it.
Then, in order:
Triage the 37 items aged 14+ days before the sprint closes. Some are probably done and merely unmarked; those are free wins. Ones needing real review should be scheduled, not rolled silently.
Do not roll all 74 forward. A sprint that begins with 74 inherited review items has the same problem on day one.
Add coarse sizing to the next sprint. S/M/L is enough to make 1.6 answerable.
Check whether Promise is blocked. No commits in 7 days on a workstream with no board coverage. If he is stuck, nothing in the current tooling would have told you.
Get Promise's work onto the board. It closes the largest measurement gap here, and would have surfaced #5 automatically.
Add the epic scope to the Zoho token — a re-authorisation, no code change, and it restores the epic breakdown.
The admin-hardening and partner-decision items from the previous report (§6, rows 3–5) still stand and are unchanged; they are not repeated here to keep this list short enough to act on.

Queue age is measured from audit trails, not Last Modified. Bulk board operations rewrite that column on many items at once without producing per-item audit entries. Using it overstated recent inflow by roughly 5× and produced the incorrect “the queue is new, not stale” conclusion in the 2026-08-05 edition. The audit script has been corrected to read the sidecar; if the sidecar is missing it now reports queue age as unknown rather than falling back.
What this report cannot tell you
Velocity, burndown, or whether remaining work fits — no estimation points.
Epic distribution — blocked on an OAuth scope.
Who should review — the board has no reviewer field. Who does is now answerable from the audit trails: nobody has ever accepted an item out of REVIEW/QA.
Whether an item in review is genuinely complete — only that its status changed and when.
Anything about the admin dashboard's progress — Promise has no board presence (1.5). Judge it from commits in beevia-admin / beevia-admin-api, not from this report's percentages.
